All of Darul Uloom New Jersey’s staff are highly qualified and experienced in the field of teaching. They are committed and dedicated in offering the best education service for the betterment and success of our students. They are proficient in the English, Arabic, Urdu, and Bangla languages.
Male Staff:
Born in Bangladesh and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, Mufti Shibbir began his journey of memorizing the Qur’an at a young age. His first madrasah was his own home, where he studied under the guidance of his father, Ml. Abdur Razzak.
He later enrolled at Darul Uloom New York in 1999, where he completed the memorization of the Holy Qur’an in 2001 under the supervision of the head Ustaad, Hafidh Abul Khayr Sahib. He then pursued the foundational years of the Alim course at the same institute, studying under Mufti Ruhul Amin, the head Mufti of the Sharia Board New York and a respected author of numerous works.
In 2003, Mufti Shibbir traveled to South Africa to continue his studies. He completed the Alim course at Madrasah Arabiyyah Islamiah (Darul Uloom Azaadville), where he studied under distinguished scholars including Shaikhul Hadith Mawlana Fadhlur Rahman Azmi and Mufti Saeed Mutara. During this time, he also benefited from the companionship of the late renowned Qari, Qari Ismael Ishaq (رحمه الله), and completed the seven modes of Qur’anic recitation (Sab‘a Qirā’āt) under his supervision.
Following this, Mufti Shibbir traveled to Bangladesh, where he completed his specialization (Iftāʾ) — a master’s degree in Islamic jurisprudence — at Markaz al Da’wah Al-Islamiyyah in Dhaka in 2010. He studied under prominent scholars including Mufti Abul Hasan, Mufti Yahya, and Shaykh Abdul Malik, a distinguished student of Shaykh Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah (رحمه الله) and Mufti Taqi Uthmani. Since 2010, Mufti Shibbir has been serving as a teacher at Darul Uloom New Jersey in Paterson, New Jersey. In 2015, he was appointed as the Principal of the institution.
Born in Sylhet, Bangladesh, Mufti Fatehul Islam began his Islamic education at a young age. Raised in a family of Huffaz and Ulama, he memorized the Qur’an early in life.
He completed the initial years of his Alim course in Sylhet at Jamiah Tawakkuliyyah Ranga under the guidance of Mowlana Abdul Wadud Sahib (رحمه الله) and Mufti Ghulam Mustafa Sahib, a distinguished student of Yusuf Banuri (رحمه الله). He then continued his studies at Jamiah Shar’iyah Malibagh in Dhaka, where he completed the Alim course under renowned scholars, including Shaikhul Hadith Qadhi Mutasim Billah (a student of Shaikh Hussain Ahmad Madani (رحمه الله)), Shaikh Mowlana Ja’far Ahmed Sahib, Mufti Mahmudul Hasan, and Mowlana Abu Sabir Abdullah Sahib, author of Awnut Tirmidhi.
In 2006, he completed his specialization (Iftāʾ), earning a master’s degree in Islamic jurisprudence from the same institution. Following his graduation, he was appointed as the Imam and Khateeb of Khilgaon Masjid in Dhaka. Alongside his Imamat, he served as a full-time teacher at Darul Uloom Khilgaon, where he taught classical texts such as Mishkat al-Masabih, Al-Hidayah, Sharh al-‘Aqa’id, Maqamat al-Hariri, Mukhtasar al-Ma‘ani, Kafiyah, and others.
In 2010, Mufti Fatehul Islam moved to the United States. Since then, he has been serving as the Imam and resident scholar of Masjid Jalalabad in Paterson, New Jersey. He also holds the position of Vice Principal at Darul Uloom New Jersey, where he continues to contribute to Islamic education and community development.
Maulana Muaz Billoo grew up in Astoria, NY and would go on to graduate from the Bronx High School of Science wherein he served the young Muslim community. He would move on to New Jersey wherein he earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Rutgers University, and served as a Dawah Coordinator therein.
It was during this time period that he began an intensive study of the sacred Islamic Sciences in a local institution known as Darul Hidayah. In 2016 he would enroll in the prestigious institution, Darul Quran Was Sunnah wherein he would go on to study the various Islamic sciences such as Tafsir, Usul al-Tafsir, Hadith, Usul al-Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, History, Logic, Arabic Morphology, Syntax and others, graduating in 2020 under the tutelage of Mufti Ruhul Amin Sahib and Mufti Nauman Vazir Sahib.
Currently, Maulana Muaz is an instructor at Darul Uloom New Jersey, located in Paterson, NJ, wherein he teaches the various Islamic sciences in addition to the physical sciences, and delivers weekly lectures on the Tafsir of the Quran. He is furthering his studies in the fields of Ilm al-Kalam, Qira'at, Usul al-Fiqh, and is attempting to specialize in the Hadith sciences under the guidance of Mufti Ruhul Amin, with a particular focus on the rich intellectual legacy of the Muhaddith of the 20th Century, Allamah Abdur Rashid al-Nu'mani.
Female Staff:
Alimah Umm Ihsaan, born and raised in New York, was nurtured in an Islamic environment that fostered her spiritual growth. Under her father's guidance, Ml Mohammad Muhibbur Rahman, she developed a strong foundation in Quranic recitation, Arabic Grammar, Islamic Jurisprudence and Hadith.
After graduating from Darul Rasheed (2007), under the supervision of the late Dr. Ismail Memon Madani, Khalifa of the late Shaikhul Islam Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya RA, Alimah Umm Ihsaan pursued teaching, inspiring numerous students across institutions. Her experience spans over 10 years, including Darul Rasheed (her alma mater), Darul Uloom Zakariyya, Darul Uloom New York and Darul Uloom New Jersey, where she currently directs the Banaat Division.
Alimah Umm Ihsaan actively engages with her community through seminars, classes and lectures. Her passion lies in igniting love for knowledge and faith through compassionate teaching and mentorship.
Binte Badrul Islam was born in Sylhet, Bangladesh and moved to Saudia Arabia at the age of 4. She resided in Dammam, KSA until her marriage after which she moved to the US in 2020.
She did her schooling in a private school that follows the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate. There, she studied English, Arabic and Bengali. She did her IGCSE O level and GCE A level and passed with excellent results while in that school. She has multiple awards and certificates for her participation and achievements. For a year, she home-tutored few middle school students for academic subjects by implementing the school curriculum during the summer break. She was also home-tutored by qualified Islamic Scholars. Currently, she is doing her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Montclair State University. She has been on the Dean’s List several times while doing her bachelors. She acquired her Pharmacy Technician license in 2021 and works as a Pharmacy Technician alongside her education. Binte Badrul Islam has been with Darul Uloom New Jersey since September, 2021.
She aspires to provide academic excellence to her students while maintaining the principles of Islam.
Bint ‘Ubaidullah Saleem was born and raised in a household of ‘Ulama in Elgin, IL.
She grew up in the company of her great grandfather, Maulana Na’eem Saleem Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him), who served as an Ustadh of the Dawrah Hadith class at the prestigious Darul ‘Uloom Deoband, and thereafter held the same position at Darul ‘Uloom Deoband Waqf, wherein he taught alongside some of the greatest scholars of that time, such as Maulana Anzar Shah al-Kashmiri, who was the son of ‘Allamah Anwar Shah al-Kashmiri. He (Hazrat Maulana Na’eem) was also a close friend of one of the greatest minds and Islamic thinkers of the past century, Qari Tayyib Sahib, who was the grandson of the founder of Darul ‘Uloom Deoband, Maulana Qasim Nanotwi, and he served as the principal of Darul ‘Uloom Deoband for over fifty years. Maulana Na’eem Sahib moved to Elgin, IL in the 1990s, wherein Bint ‘Ubaidullah grew up watching him write his expansive tafseer, Anwar al-Qur’an. He would go on to serve as the Shaikh al-Hadith at the Institute of Islamic Education, passing away into the mercy of Allah in 2008.
Bint ‘Ubaidullah also grew up in the company of her esteemed grandfather, Maulana ‘Abdullah Saleem Sahib (may Allah allow us to continually benefit from him), who graduated from Darul ‘Uloom Deoband in the 1950s and studied under great luminaries such as Shaikh al-Islam Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani, Maulana Ibrahim Balyawi, and Maulana Fakhruddin Sahib (may Allah have mercy on them all). He also benefitted tremendously from the company of Qari Tayyib Sahib. Maulana ‘Abdullah Saleem Sahib would go on to become the head instructor for the Qira’at program at Darul ‘Uloom Deoband, receiving the title of Sadr al-Qurra. Many students studied under him, including Qari Ahmadullah Sahib, who is the current Sadr al-Qurra at Darul ‘Uloom Dabhel. Maulana ‘Abdullah Saleem Sahib moved to the United States in the 1980s and would go on to establish the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, IL, wherein he currently serves as the Shaikh al-Hadith.
Having grown up in such an environment of Islamic knowledge, Bint ‘Ubaidullah was embedded with a love for Qur’an and the science of Tajweed, which drove her to focus on completing her memorization of the Qur’an. Simultaneously, she would go on to study and memorize a significant portion of the Muqaddamah Jazariyyah, an essential primer in the study of Tajweed. She has served as a part-time Qur’an teacher in IIE and is currently a Qur’an teacher in Darul ‘Uloom New Jersey. She is currently working towards completing the memorization of the Qur’an. May Allah Ta’ala allow her to complete her memorization safely, securely, and swiftly.
